WhatsApp Rolling Out Voice, Video Calls to Desktop, and Web

WhatsApp is one of the most widely used messaging apps on the planet. Still, the desktop and online applications aren't fully compatible with the mobile version, but that is evolving in recent months.

Audio and video calls are now available for desktop and online users. WhatsApp Calls, according to iMore and WABeta Info, allow users to make and receive audio and video calls from their PC or Mac.

Users must retain a connection to their phone, as with any desktop capabilities. Having the ability to communicate on a computer, on the other hand, makes keeping in touch with friends and family via WhatsApp much easier. Others prefer sitting at a computer for audio and video chats, much as some chatters prefer a physical keyboard for sending messages. There will be no hours of holding a phone or propping up a tablet.

WhatsApp Calls, which have been in the works for two years, are only available to a small number of WhatsApp users, while WABeta Info reports that it is progressively rolling out to the others. There is no expected timeframe for when everyone will be able to use WhatsApp Calls, but if previous feature launches are any indicator, it won't be long.

Sticker compatibility had already been added to the desktop software, allowing users to send and receive stickers that matched those purchased on their phones. Prior to that, the app included a shopping cart for business users and a "disappearing message" feature to make private talks even more secret.
